Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Awful Day Ever
It all started with my case of morning hair. I couldn't make it to look right. As I was getting ready out the door, I fell and landed all over myself. To make matters worse, I was extremely running behind for school.
I arrived. My {boss|teacher|was absolutely furious. I tried to explain, but it was pointless.
The rest of the day was even worse. Everything. I couldn'tthink straight.
By the time I got home, I was physically and emotionally wiped out. This day, this terrible day will be forever remembered as an epic fail.

It all started out terribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then things went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each check here other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
